We practice half an hour of walking meditation and half an hour of sitting meditation followed by a short Dhamma talk. If you want a private introduction to meditaiton practice just contact us. Weekday Morning Practice: 7 AM Pacific An informal sit-and-walk session to start the day with mindfulness. People come and go as they can.

Dhamma discussion and interview

If you are interested in talking about your practice, or have questions about the Dhamma, Pete offers friendly one-on-one discussions online via Zoom. If you are interested. just fill out our contact us form to set up a time to meet online.

Our History

Founded by our teacher, Ben Heffer, and later continued by Pete Hume, this group has been a foundational part of our community for many years. What began as a Saturday gathering has evolved into an ever-present refuge—a place where we can meet any day, any week, any month, or any year to continue walking the path together.

Dhamma Study and Discussion

Today, Pete leads the group discussions by offering thoughtful Dhamma talks and detailed presentations on the fundamentals of Buddhism, as laid out by the Buddha in the Suttas. Our sessions are rooted in direct practice, ensuring that study is not just intellectual but deeply experiential.

Last year, Pete recorded a series of talks on the Mahāsatipatipatthāna Sutta, offering an in-depth exploration of mindfulness and its role in practice. These talks provide a strong sense of what our Saturday discussions are like and how we engage with the Buddha’s teachings. Click here to find these recordings on our YouTube channel:

Welcome to the IIMC Practice Group Room

This is a special place where we come to practice. You are welcome to join us. We meet on Saturdays, Weekday Mornings and Wednesday Evenings. It all started on Saturdays, hence the name, but we found we just couldn’t get enough and started practicing more and more. We now use this link for all our meetings. The important thing to know: it’s all very peaceful around here. People come and go as they can and the emphasis is on developing our practice. The information is insightful, and the group is very very casual and welcoming.
